According to police sources, the gang operated itinerantly, renting vehicles in Spain and crossing the border to commit crimes in France. Collaboration with Europol and Chilean authorities has been key to tracking its members.
The detainees were intercepted on August 5th near Calaf (Anoia), supposedly as they were preparing to carry out a new robbery. Police highlight the difficulty in apprehending such groups but emphasize the effectiveness of international databases.
One of the detainees provided an identity that could not be criminally verified, suggesting the use of fictitious or stolen identities. The Mossos d'Esquadra are maintaining open communications with Chilean authorities to determine his real identity.
The three men appeared in court on August 7th and were remanded in custody. The investigation began following a burglary at a house in Juneda, where the thieves forced open a shutter and broke a window to gain access to the property, taking valuables.

During surveillance, a clear division of roles among the group members was observed. Finally, in Calaf, two members were inspecting the surroundings while a third kept watch in the car, and they were arrested before entering another house.
During searches, items such as caps, t-shirts, mobile phones, gloves, tools for forcing entry, and valuables like jewelry and watches were seized, their origin currently under investigation.
