The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested two individuals last week in Les Borges Blanques, in the Garrigues region, for the manufacturing and possession of homemade firearms.

The investigation commenced on April 15, when a man presented himself at a local health center with a hand injury. This wound was consistent with those caused by a firearm.
Following police intervention and the injured man's initial excuses, he eventually admitted that the injury had occurred accidentally while he was handling a weapon.
The Pla d'Urgell - Garrigues Basic Police Area Investigation Unit took charge of the case. After interviewing the injured man, he agreed to hand over two weapons that, he stated, he had acquired from a person in the same municipality who was engaged in their artisanal manufacture.
Upon examining the weapons, officers confirmed that they were very rudimentary devices, capable of firing a single .22 mm caliber shot and completely lacking any safety mechanisms.
The first arrest took place last week and involved a 43-year-old man for weapons possession. Two days later, a second individual, aged 66, was detained, accused of manufacturing, selling, and possessing firearms.
