An army of 175 volunteers successfully cleared and restored 30 kilometers of historic mountain trails in the Serra de la Llena range near Juncosa last Sunday.

Organized by the Juncosa Town Council, 25 teams equipped with chainsaws and rakes worked to remove fallen trees and debris caused by recent storms. The volunteers came from several nearby villages, including el Vilosell and la Pobla de Cérvoles.
The project focused on ancient 'bridle paths' (camins de ferradura) that historically connected the Lleida region with Priorat and Conca de Barberà. Notable sites included the Forns ravine, home to several glass furnaces from the early modern period.

"The goal is to have these recovered routes officially mapped and historically documented by 2027."

This second edition of the volunteer day also led to the discovery of original stone-paved sections in the Vall del Vilosell path. The local administration plans to continue these efforts to promote sustainable tourism in the Garrigues region.
