Elena Juncosa Vecchierini appointed new director of Tarragona National Archaeological Museum

The historian and museologist was selected through a public competition and brings experience from the Mas Miró Foundation.

The Department of Culture has named Elena Juncosa Vecchierini as the new director of the Tarragona National Archaeological Museum (MNAT) following the conclusion of the public selection process.

Juncosa's appointment was formalized after evaluation by a technical commission comprising representatives from the Department of Culture and external experts in heritage management and archaeology.
Juncosa holds a degree in History, specializing in Prehistory, Ancient History, and Archaeology from the University of Barcelona, where she also obtained a Master's degree in Museology and Cultural Heritage Management.
In addition to her academic background, which includes a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Didactics of Social Sciences, Elena Juncosa has served as the managing director of the Fundació Mas Miró since 2015.
