This new image, which will accompany the project's future campaigns and communications, is the result of a collective process where each student submitted a proposal. After a selection of three finalists, the winning idea came from one student, which was then collectively refined.
The initiative not only strengthens the application's visual identity but also highlights the emerging talent of the region. This collaboration comes at a successful time for Garrotxa Approp, which has already surpassed 10,000 users and facilitated transactions worth over 13 million euros in local purchases.
The mascot has been designed to represent the project's core values: proximity, dynamism, community, and the unique identity of Garrotxa. Various adaptations of the character are planned for different sectors such as hospitality, accommodation, leisure, culture, and local businesses and services.
The idea of creating a mascot initially emerged during the "Pensa en gran" event, organized by the Olot City Council and DinàmiG, within the framework of Garrotxa Emprèn. This proposal, born from a citizen participation space, has now materialized into a real commission for the students of the School of Art, offering them valuable professional experience.
“"The platform has become a tool to boost local commerce and strengthen the regional economic fabric."
Since its launch in late 2020, Garrotxa Approp has driven various promotional and loyalty campaigns, such as the Passport, the Roulette, and special Christmas initiatives. The organization plans to continue its growth throughout 2026, with the incorporation of new establishments and municipalities into the platform.
