Olot Carnival 2026 Kicks Off with Royal Show and Grand Parade

The city of Olot, located in the Garrotxa region, will celebrate its Carnival from February 20 to 22, 2026, with an intense program including the inaugural act at the Principal Theater and the traditional Grand Parade.

The official start of the Olot Carnival 2026 will be on Friday, February 20, with the inaugural act called The Royal Show, which will take place at the Teatre Principal with two sessions, at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. This musical show will feature the presence of the kings and queens of the festival.
The central event, the Grand Carnival Parade (Gran Rua), will be held on Saturday, February 21, starting at 5 p.m. The parade will begin at Avinguda Santa Coloma and culminate at Plaça Clarà, serving as the highlight of the celebration with the float and troupe competition.
Saturday's events will conclude with the Clubs Dinner (Sopar de penyes), scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at the Pavelló Firal. During this dinner, which will include local products from Garrotxa, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the parade competition.
On Sunday, February 22, the Carnival will close with a unique cultural activity: the recital of the 9th Olot Erotic Poetry Contest. The event and the awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the Sala Pere Serrat dels Catòlics.
