The new Primary Care Center (CAP) Olot Nord, located in the Sant Miquel neighborhood, opened its doors this Saturday, October 19th, consolidating key services for the population's health.

The center will integrate the activity from the Olot Nord Local Clinic and the Garrotxa Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service, in addition to consolidating all pediatric and rehabilitation care for the municipality. This new facility, which represents an investment of 5 million euros, spans 1,917.24 m2 across four floors.
The ground floor houses the reception, administrative area, emergency services, and community spaces. The first floor is dedicated to general medicine, pediatrics, and midwifery, while the second includes general medicine, dentistry, and polyvalent consultations. The 16 consultation rooms face the street, with waiting areas opening onto an internal courtyard that connects with the surroundings.
The third floor will host the Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service and the CAS Jove (Youth Care Service) of La Garrotxa. The basement floor includes a rehabilitation area, staff rest areas, facilities, and storage. The new CAP will also consolidate group community activities, integrating social work and psychology, and plans to include dental services starting in the first quarter of 2027.
The construction, designed by Comas-Pont Arquitectes SLP and executed by VISCOLA-Construccions Àrids i Formigons, SA – Istem SLU, has a total cost of €5,176,035.90 and is part of the Primary Care Infrastructure Improvement Plan (MINAP) funded by the Ministry of Health. The main entrance is on Carrer Martí l'Humà, with a second access to the north for users and professionals of the Mental Health Service and CAS Jove.
With the launch of the new CAP Olot Nord, the clinic on Girona Avenue and the premises of the Community Rehabilitation Service and CAS Jove on Carrer Castellà Llovera will close. The reorganization will allow for the consolidation of all pediatric activity in Olot, with over 22,000 annual visits, and municipal physical rehabilitation services.
Mental health and addiction services, managed by the Institut d’Assistència Sanitària (IAS), will maintain their activity at the new location. The Community Rehabilitation Service served 62 people in 2025, while CAS Jove offers therapeutic care to adolescents with substance use problems.
The new CAP, managed by the Institut Català de la Salut, is integrated into the Olot Basic Health Area, which includes the CAP Garrotxa, the Can Blanch clinic, and those in Les Preses and Santa Pau. The Primary Care Team comprises 135 professionals who conduct approximately 340,000 visits annually for a population of over 43,000 inhabitants.
The center will maintain the phone number 972 27 38 16 and operating hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 8 PM. Mental health and addiction services will retain their usual hours and contact channels.
