Thirty-five students from elementary level 1 and 2 in Olot visited the Red Cross facilities in La Garrotxa to undertake language practice and discover social volunteering.

The students received an explanatory session from the entity's technicians, who detailed what volunteering is and how it applies to the different programs they carry out in the region. The aim was to encourage the students and show them opportunities for participation as volunteers, which would allow them to establish a connection with the local community and practice the Catalan language.
During the visit, the students put on volunteer vests and participated in role-playing games, stepping into the shoes of both the volunteer and the service user. This activity is part of the initiatives of the Servei de Català d’Olot-La Garrotxa to offer spaces for language practice and collaboration with local entities, as is already done with the human tower group Els Xerrics, the Sardana dance group, and the Naturalist Association.
