Two individuals were injured, one requiring ten stitches, after being assaulted with a stick inside a bar in Torroella de Montgrí by two men.

A violent incident occurred on Tuesday around 7 PM in a bar located on Passeig Catalunya in Torroella de Montgrí. Two men entered the establishment armed with a stick and assaulted the owner and one of the waiters, in front of numerous customers present at the time.
One of the victims sustained serious injuries requiring ten stitches. Both injured individuals received medical assistance from the SEM, but neither required hospitalization, according to municipal sources.
The underlying cause of the assault appears to be a prior dispute. According to sources familiar with the case, the bar owner had reprimanded the son of one of the alleged assailants for riding his scooter in a pedestrian area and causing disturbances. The minor then reportedly alerted family members, leading to two individuals arriving at the bar to carry out the attack.
The incident quickly prompted the mobilization of local police from Torroella de Montgrí and the Mossos d’Esquadra. The events are pending a report at the La Bisbal police station.
In response to the assault, the Torroella de Montgrí City Council has announced its intention to join the judicial proceedings as a popular prosecutor.
