The Girona Chamber of Commerce has awarded 42 sustainability seals to artisan companies during an event held at Farinera Sant Lluís in Pont de Molins.

The event is part of the C.A.T. (Cross-border Artisan Cooperation) project, an initiative involving nearly 150 companies located on both sides of the Pyrenees. This certification, known as ECO CAT+, recognizes producers' commitment to competitiveness, regional development, and sustainability.
According to the organizers, the final goal is to certify a total of 120 businesses. This collaboration, developed under the European Interreg POCTEFA 2021-2027 program and the Catalan Cross-border Space, aims to strengthen the sector against competition from mass-produced goods.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the 2026 Girona Trade Fair will reserve a specific area for accredited artisans. Around twenty of these professionals will be able to showcase their creations at their own stand within the event, which attracts approximately 60,000 visitors annually.
The project also includes the creation of the Catalan Cross-border Craft Route, as well as the organization of specialized training and masterclasses to foster knowledge exchange among creators in the region.
