The accident occurred around six in the afternoon when a car collided with a lamppost located at the Santa Eugènia roundabout in the city of Girona. Emergency services were immediately notified.

Despite the force of the impact, the two people traveling in the vehicle were unharmed. However, the lamppost suffered significant damage, becoming bent, although it remained upright.

Personnel from the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Fire Department) were dispatched to the scene and awaited the removal of the damaged element. At that time, they were coordinating with the municipal brigade to determine whether the intervention to remove the lamppost would be carried out by municipal services or by the Fire Department itself.
