The Girona-based club CB Quart has confirmed its participation in Tercera FEB for the upcoming season. The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has officially announced the teams that will be part of the top state category, including the Girona team. The operation was delayed due to bureaucratic issues but has finally been successfully concluded.
The spot was acquired from Club Bàsquet Sa Real of Ibiza. Despite the Balearic club's sporting merits to maintain the category, its main sponsor, Instalaciones Arévalo, which contributed around 40,000 euros, decided to withdraw its support this summer. The FEB has placed CB Quart in group C-A, where they will face teams such as Ibersol CBT, Florange UE Mataró, Vic, DM Group Mollet, Tibu-Ron Castelldefels, Sese, Granollers, Tenea Esparreguera, Egobe Tecla Sala, UE Montgat, CB Cuarte de Huerva, Ciutat d’Inca, and Flanigan Calvià.
The Tercera FEB season will begin on Sunday, October 4, with the first round concluding on January 10. The regular season will end on April 17, leading into the race for the six promotion spots. The final phase will take place between May 27 and 30, 2027. The league will introduce new features such as three dates for postponed matches and a new system for awarding vacancies for the Final Phase.
Regarding the coaching staff, Cesar Saura will not continue as coach after a season with only two victories and finishing last in the standings. The club is now looking for a coach to bring stability and consolidate the team in the category. The coaching staff will be completed by David Martínez and Pablo López.
On the court, Joel Callave, Ferran Díaz, Arnau Palol, Jofre Salavedra, Marc Mateu, and Adrià Cano are renewing. Former player Taffa Fatty also returns. Jaume Rovira, Biel Vinyet, Pau Jover, and Jorge Dacal are joining. With these eleven players, the club expects to finalize the squad with a few more reinforcements to improve sporting results.
