The incident occurred while the man was cycling on the route between Mas Montal and Mas Marcot, in the municipality of Quart. The alert was received a few minutes before ten in the morning.
The cyclist sustained the injury when a branch became lodged in his leg. Three fire crews, including a rescue helicopter with medical personnel, were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Emergency responders stabilized the cyclist and provided initial medical attention before proceeding with his evacuation. Once the rescue was completed, he was scheduled to be transferred to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona.
