Last Wednesday, the BOE released Resolution 387/2026, dated May 6th, approving the public employment offering for the year 2026. In total, 27,232 new positions have been made available within the General State Administration, a figure that annually attracts over 200,000 applicants nationwide.
These public sector jobs are highly sought after due to their numerous advantages: competitive salaries, job security, flexible working hours that facilitate work-life balance, and opportunities for geographical mobility.
Among this offering, the call for State administrative assistants stands out. This role presents less stringent entry requirements, needing only a Secondary Education certificate (ESO). Furthermore, 1,450 positions have been made available, a substantial number compared to other roles.
Regarding remuneration, the salary for an administrative assistant generally ranges between 1,300 and 1,750 euros per month, according to data from the MasterD academy. This variation can depend on factors such as location, prior experience, and the specific salary policies of each institution.
The syllabus for these exams comprises 28 topics divided into 10 modules, including subjects like Constitutional Law and Public Function. The selection process, as per the National Institute of Public Administration, consists of two eliminatory parts: a written questionnaire of up to 60 questions and a second questionnaire of up to 50 questions, both to be completed in a single session.
