The awarding of the Truffaut cinema management in Girona has triggered a confidence crisis within the municipal government team, formed by Guanyem, Junts, and ERC, after Junts and ERC voted in favor of a new company.

The tender process for the management of the Truffaut cinema has generated a deep confidence crisis within the governing team of Girona City Council, a coalition comprising Guanyem, Junts, and ERC. The local government board recently approved, with the votes in favor from Junts and ERC (4 votes) and against from Guanyem (3 votes), the awarding of the cinema to Rambla de l’Art-Cambrils AIE. This company won the public tender, surpassing the Girona Film Critics Collective, which had managed the facility for over 25 years.
Deputy Mayor Gemma Geis (Junts) acknowledged that a "period of reflection" is opening regarding the mandate's continuity. She believes Guanyem's opposing vote is mere "gesticulation" aimed at making her and her governing partners "bear the political and public fallout of the decision." Geis emphasized that the vote was cast "reluctantly but with the certainty that it was the only legally possible option."
Meanwhile, Quim Ayats (ERC) stated that the vote in the government board represented a "break in political trust." In contrast, Mayor Lluc Salellas denied any "gesticulation" from Guanyem.
