The Palau-sacosta complex facilities of GEiEG in Girona hosted the morning session of the Catalan Absolute Athletics Championship, highlighted by a new record.

The competition saw a historic result in the 400-meter hurdles event, surpassing the previous record held since the year 2000. This was the only record achieved during the morning session on the recently remodeled tracks.
The day confirmed the superiority of several key figures in Catalan athletics. A new title was added to the hammer throw record, while victories were also defended in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and pole vault by athletes with long-standing championship experience.
The morning program included the 100-meter sprint finals, with tight results in the men's category and a clear victory in the women's. Additionally, the 400-meter and 1,500-meter races were held, where intensity was the dominant note in the final meters.
Before the official opening ceremony, the championship had already awarded the first titles in the discus and race walking disciplines, consolidating a day of high athletic activity in the city of Girona.
