Girona FC has successfully optimized its performance in set-piece situations at Montilivi and away, an area that had been lacking for much of the current season.

The team has found a successful formula in recent matches. Striker Vanat scored two nearly identical goals by capitalizing on Witsel flicking the ball at the near post. This play was executed effectively against both Alavés and Celta.
Although the corner takers varied—Tsygankov in Vitoria and Lemar at home—the result remained consistent. Prior to these goals, the squad had only managed two set-piece goals: one by Arnau against Valencia and another by Witsel against Barça.
Data highlights the importance of this improvement, as Girona has taken 112 corners so far this season. This newfound offensive efficiency helps balance the defensive struggles the team has faced when dealing with opponents' tactical plays.
