The Girona Greenways Consortium reported a 13% increase in route usage during 2025, reaching a historic milestone of over one million total uses across the network.

These figures confirm the consolidation of the network as a key infrastructure for daily mobility, tourism, and leisure in the Girona region. The most significant growth was seen in urban sections, showing a trend towards local proximity use.
Out of the million uses, 700,000 were pedestrians. Walking has become a steady habit throughout the week, while cycling remains more concentrated during weekends and the summer months of July and August.
The most popular routes included the Carrilet II Nord, which remains the main cycling axis, followed by the Ruta del Tren Petit and the Ruta del Ferro i del Carbó.
