The works council of Girona+Neta, responsible for city cleaning and waste collection, has accepted mediation by the Bar Association, offered by Girona City Council, to try and reach an agreement on the new collective agreement.

This decision was announced on Monday afternoon during a staff concentration in the Plaça del Vi, prior to the municipal plenary session. At this event, workers explained the reasons that have led them to call an indefinite strike starting on May 4.

"We have accepted the mediation by the Bar Association offered by the City Council with the aim of reaching an agreement with the company for the new collective agreement."

The mediation seeks to find a solution to the labor dispute affecting the city's cleaning and waste collection service, thereby preventing the planned strike from commencing.
