The Elefant d'Or International Circus Festival in Girona has reached a historic milestone with 24,000 tickets sold before its opening on February 26 at Camp de Mart.

This year's edition, running until March 2, features Chilean trapeze artist Gastón Maluenda. A member of the The Flying Maluenda's dynasty, he will attempt the quadruple somersault, a feat currently performed by only three artists worldwide.

"I perform the quadruple somersault, the most difficult exercise in circus history."
