The hospitality and restaurant sector in the Girona region has allocated more than 175 million euros to modernize its establishments ahead of the 2026 season.

According to data from the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of the Girona Regions, this investment has focused on four fundamental pillars: sustainability, the acquisition of new machinery, space renovation, and digital transformation.
In terms of energy efficiency, businesses have opted for the installation of photovoltaic panels and the renewal of climate control systems, including low-consumption air conditioning units. At the same time, renovations have been carried out on furniture and common areas, with special attention to improving kitchens in restaurants and general accessibility of the facilities.
Digitalization has gained significant weight with the implementation of new booking engines and the use of communication tools based on artificial intelligence. These actions seek to consolidate a tourism model based on quality and innovation.
