The town of Cabanes recorded the highest temperature of the day at 41.7°C. Other municipalities such as Espolla reached 40.5°C, while the city of Girona hit 40.1°C. Other towns like Olot, Navata, and Fornells de la Selva also neared these figures, although overall data is slightly lower than the previous day.
According to forecasts from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, the intense heat episode will continue, although a brief stabilization is expected during Friday and Saturday. However, a new thermal rise is anticipated starting Sunday, which will keep thermometers above the usual average until the end of next week.
The Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques reported that since the alert began on July 5th, 230 people have been treated for heat-related issues. Of these cases, more than half required hospital transfer, while the rest were managed through the 061 service.
