Girona, needing to reinforce its midfield following the departure of Jhon Solís, has reached an agreement with Fran Beltrán. The player, whose contract with the Galician club expires next June, will be transferred for a symbolic amount, making the operation comfortable for the Catalan side.
The midfielder from Seseña is a priority target for Míchel, as they previously worked together at Rayo Vallecano. Under the current Girona coach, Beltrán was a crucial player in achieving promotion to the first division during the 2017/18 season, despite being only 18 years old.
After his time in Madrid, Celta de Vigo paid eight million euros for his services in the summer of 2018. In Galicia, Beltrán has become a fixture, being the third player with the most league appearances for the club (240). However, he has seen less playing time this season under Claudio Giráldez.
The player has reportedly already said goodbye to his teammates and was not included in Celta's latest squad list. His official announcement as a new Girona player is expected in the coming hours or days.
