Registrations for the Girona City Half Marathon, scheduled for February 28, 2027, will open today, Tuesday, at 6:00 PM. The event, organized by triathlete Nan Oliveras in collaboration with the Girona City Council, revives the city's asphalt half marathon, which had not been held since 2015. Up to 5,000 runners are expected to participate.
The race will offer services such as pacemakers, showers, massages, commemorative t-shirts, medals, and other gifts for all participants. The course will cover a distance of 21.097 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of only 65 meters, making it a very flat route. The race will start in Girona, pass through Sarrià de Ter and Salt, and is presented as a good test for participants running for the first time or using it as preparation for the Barcelona Marathon, held two weeks later.
