Goalkeeper Juan Carlos Martín concludes his seven-season tenure at Girona FC, as the club and player have agreed not to renew his contract expiring this summer.

Girona FC and goalkeeper Juan Carlos Martín have reached an agreement to part ways, bringing an end to a seven-season relationship. The player's contract, which was set to expire this summer, will not be renewed. The goalkeeper, originally from Marchamalo, had extended his commitment to the club for one season last summer.
At 38 years old, Juan Carlos concludes a six-year career defending the white-and-red shirt of Girona, a club he joined in the summer of 2019. During his time there, he played 125 official matches, serving as a key figure both on and off the pitch. He was one of the protagonists in the club's promotion to the top division in 2022.
In recent seasons, his role in goal had diminished. This past season, a serious injury sustained during pre-season, just days before the league began in August, prevented him from participating.

"I will never forget Girona."
