The call covered expenses incurred between January 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, including water transport by tanker trucks, emergency works, and repair of intake systems affected by floods. In addition to the 10 grants for Girona, 19 benefited Tarragona, 11 Lleida, and 7 Barcelona.
Each application could receive a maximum of €100,000, potentially subsidizing up to 95% of the total cost. Of the total grants, 29 were for water transport by tanker, 15 for emergency works, and the remaining three combined both actions.
This aid line also includes funding for facilities to connect raw water to treatment plants, purchase or rental of water treatment equipment, research wells, or generators and solar panels for water supply.
Since 2022, the ACA has awarded 470 grants totaling over €10.7 million for these types of actions. A new call for water transport and emergency works costs has recently been opened.
