The Llançà Town Council has commenced works on Casa Marly, a project aimed at improving the entrance to the urban core and traffic circulation, with an investment of 120,000 euros and an estimated duration of two months.

The ongoing works include setting back Casa Marly and integrating the Plaça de la Colla del Ranxo. This initiative, costing approximately 120,000 euros, with 55,000 euros contributed by the Diputació de Girona, primarily seeks to enhance the visibility of the town center.

"Immediately after, we will address the works to expand this road."

The modification of Casa Marly's use, owned by the Generalitat de Catalunya, was made possible by an agreement reached in November 2024 between the Department of Economy and Finance and the council. This agreement grants the free cession of the former summer residence for a period of 50 years, in exchange for the Town Council investing in its maintenance and continuing to dedicate it to social interest uses.
Previously, in 2019, the Generalitat had granted a concession for 30 years with an annual fee of 72,498 euros. The council requested a modification of this concession due to the need for new interventions on the property, a request accepted by the Department of Economy as part of the collaboration to recover historical heritage.

"An action of this nature will give more visibility to the town center."

In addition to this project, the Town Council and the Generalitat are collaborating on the design of a new roundabout to improve traffic flow between the port and the town, especially during the summer months, which is expected to be presented soon.
Recently, on April 19, the new Racó dels Pescadors was inaugurated in Llançà, a renovated space featuring urban furniture, the Si no fos bench, and a sculpture accompanied by a poem by Mar Falcó. This project was made possible through the collaboration between the Llançà Town Council, the Fishermen's Guild, and the newly created Associació Gent del Mar, aiming to dignify and highlight this emblematic location.
