The Department of Territory has reorganized schedules, particularly early morning departures, to allow arrivals in Girona before 8 AM and 9 AM. New departures are set for 6:15 AM, 6:45 AM, and 7:15 AM, reinforcing a high-demand period.
The route will see increased regularity throughout much of the day. Between 7:15 AM and 5:15 PM, a bus will run every hour towards Girona. In the opposite direction, towards L'Estartit, hourly service will operate from 9 AM to 9 PM, making the service more predictable.
Midday services will also be enhanced with departures at 2 PM, 2:30 PM, and 3:15 PM, benefiting those traveling for work, study, or personal errands, and making public transport more attractive for daily journeys.
This initiative is part of the second Interurban Bus Shock Plan, focused on promoting sustainable mobility and aligning service supply with real territorial needs. The Torroella de Montgrí Town Council had repeatedly requested these improvements, echoing the concerns of regular line users.
While welcoming the service enhancement, the council urges further progress, specifically requesting better connections to the Flaçà train station, a key link for many residents, and to the Palamós Hospital, the reference center which currently presents significant public transport access challenges.
The Town Council will continue discussions with relevant authorities to achieve a more efficient and accessible public transport network that meets the population's actual needs and facilitates everyday travel.
