The summer initiative, involving 206 informers, managed visitor flow in riverine areas, natural parks, and other protected zones. Common issues identified included improper parking, unleashed domestic animals, excessive waste and noise, and violations related to swimming in prohibited areas.
These welcoming, informational, and incident management tasks are coordinated with local municipalities, the Rural Agents Corps, rural guards, and the Mossos d'Esquadra. Initial data estimates over a million visitors to these areas, with a significant concentration in riverine environments and gorge areas.
In the riverine areas of Girona, Central Catalonia, Tarragona, and Terres de l’Ebre, 70 informers assisted nearly 67,000 people. This figure is lower than last year, partly due to closures under Plan Alfa 4 during July.
Additionally, 136 informers were deployed in natural parks such as Ports and Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici. As of July 31st, in areas directly managed by the Generalitat, 328,104 people have been assisted, with an estimated over 939,000 visitors.
