The Barcelona group Rambalaya inaugurated the 25th edition of the Black Music Festival yesterday at the Auditori Teatre Espai Ter in Torroella de Montgrí, with a program running until March 23.

The Rambalaya concert was responsible for opening the festival’s program. They presented their third album, Plays for the brokenhearted, released last March, which they have already performed in venues and festivals across the entire Peninsula.
The group, with clear influences from blues, soul, and romantic rock’n roll sounds from artists such as Roy Orbison or Richard Hawley, offered the first taste of an edition celebrating the festival's 25th anniversary.

The 25th edition of the festival will feature big names in American roots music such as Ben Harper, Guillamino, and The Harlem Gospel Travellers.

The lineup will run until March 23 with concerts scheduled in various towns across the province, including Girona, Salt, Fornells de la Selva, and Corçà. The next events will be the celebration of the Black Music Big Band at La Mirona on February 14, and the recital by Red Beans and Pepper Sauce and Silverflame in Aiguaviva on February 15.
