The Annexa-Puigvert school in Girona reported the fall of a pine tree in the school's grove this Sunday, marking the third such incident since 2020 and sparking safety fears.

The tree fell during high winds. Although no students were present, the school board warns that children's safety has been at risk for too long due to institutional bureaucracy between the Generalitat and Girona City Council.

"Institutional bureaucracy and a lack of will or understanding are preventing a solution."

The AFA (Parents' Association) is demanding immediate measures. While the council keeps the area closed, the Education Department has yet to provide a timeline for securing the remaining trees.
