Spar Girona secured a crucial 71-74 victory against Valencia this weekend, surviving a late comeback attempt to remain second in the league standings.

Playing without Canella, Quevedo, and Bibby, the Girona squad showed immense resilience. They dominated the early stages of the game, building a massive 18-point lead (24-42) during the second quarter, driven by Coulibaly's interior presence and Guerrero's scoring.
The second half proved more challenging as foul trouble mounted for the visitors. Valencia fought back to close the gap to just one point (71-72) in the final minute. However, Holm remained calm at the free-throw line to extend the lead before Valencia missed a last-second three-pointer.

"I am very proud of the players given the situation we were coming from and very grateful for their sacrifice."

Roberto Íñiguez · Spar Girona Head Coach
