The Llagostera Town Council collected 5,600 euros in fines during the first three months of the new civic agent's activity, reinforcing control over the door-to-door waste collection system.

The intensive control, initiated three months ago by the Llagostera Town Council to improve waste selection and proper management, has resulted in 14 sanctioning files. Each of these files carries a fine of 400 euros, totaling 5,600 euros in penalties.

The civic agent figure was created to improve the selection and correct management of waste in the municipality and, at the same time, prevent and reduce uncivil behavior related to the collection system.

Beyond the fines, the civic agent has carried out over 200 informative visits and calls to homes that did not have the corresponding bins or were using the service incorrectly. Furthermore, more than 100 abandoned or incorrectly sorted waste bags have been reviewed, allowing the Town Council to detect specific incidents and act directly.
The control operation has included coordinated actions with the Local Police in repeat offender spots in the municipality to put an end to inadequate waste management practices. Among the areas where these interventions took place are Barcelona Street, Major Street, Sant Pere Street, and Camprodon Street.
The agent has also played an informative and educational role, resolving citizens' doubts about Llagostera's waste collection model and promoting more responsible and sustainable habits to improve the functioning of the door-to-door system.
