Hundreds of teachers, doctors, and farmers blocked the AP-7 highway in Sant Gregori this Thursday morning, March 30th, as part of a decentralized strike action.

The protest in the Girona region saw tractors joining the blockade after bypassing Mossos d'Esquadra police cordons. Similar disruptions occurred on the C-58 in Sant Quirze del Vallès and the C-32 in Mataró, as educators demand lower student-to-teacher ratios and higher wages.

"As teachers, the power we have is to stop the country a bit; we need to cause inconvenience so that we are heard."

The Department of Education reported a 7.64% participation rate in the strike across the affected regions. Unions continue to pressure the Catalan Government to return to the negotiating table, labeling previous agreements with minority unions as insufficient.
