Approximately 10,000 teachers demonstrated in Girona this Thursday to protest against the recent agreement signed between the Department of Education and the CCOO and UGT unions.

The protesters, who describe the deal as a "betrayal," marched in two columns through the capital of the Gironès region before gathering in front of the Government Delegation. They are demanding higher salaries and more resources for public schools across Catalonia.
While the Government estimated the strike's turnout at 30%, the USTEC union claimed it reached 70%. Similar protests took place in Sabadell, following a blockade of the C-58 highway. A massive national demonstration is expected tomorrow in Barcelona.
