The Girona Music Conservatory has organized for the first time a tribute concert to the figure and work of composer Isaac Albéniz, held at the Monastery of Sant Pere de Camprodon with the participation of students and teachers.
This event, marking a new collaboration between the conservatory and the composer's birthplace, took place at the Monastery of Sant Pere de Camprodon. The main objective is to preserve and disseminate the musical legacy of Albéniz, one of the great names in Catalan music.
“
"We are very happy that they come here and we invite everyone to promote music and culture, because it is very important, as well as to carry the name of Isaac Albéniz everywhere. In the future, these students will be able to come and play at the Festival."
The concert featured the interpretation of various pieces by conservatory teachers and students, who wished to recall the importance of Albéniz's work. Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to perform in such a significant location.
“
"It is a privilege to play in Camprodon."
The tribute was attended by a great-grandson of the composer, who highlighted the relevance of this initiative. He emphasized the importance of combining the musical training of new generations with the memory of such an illustrious composer, especially in a conservatory that bears his name.
“
"It is special, because children are the future and because the conservatory is named Isaac Albéniz. Therefore, it seems like a good idea to unite these two things in the monastery of Camprodon."
