The incident occurred around 10:30 AM when the woman, who had separated from her group, fell after being startled by a reptile. Due to the knee injury and difficulty moving, a helicopter from the Special Actions Group (GRAE) of the Generalitat Firefighters was required.
The helicopter transported the woman and one of her companions to the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa, in Olot. From there, an ambulance took charge of the affected individual to provide the necessary medical attention for her knee injury.
