A 37-year-old man was rescued this Thursday in Flaçà after accidentally falling into a ten-meter deep well while performing maintenance work on a private property.

The incident took place on Comerç Street in the Gironès region. The victim was working on a house facade when the well's lid suddenly gave way. The worker fell to the bottom of the structure, which contained some water at the time.
The Generalitat Firefighters deployed five units, including GRAE mountain rescue specialists from Olot. Using a rescue triangle and specialized ropes, they managed to hoist the man back to the surface. Despite the fall, he remained conscious throughout the operation.
Medical staff from the SEM treated the man on-site for minor head injuries and arm bruises before transferring him to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona. Local Mossos d'Esquadra police also attended the scene.
