Catalonia faces a new easterly storm between Monday, January 19, and Tuesday, January 20, with the greatest impact concentrated in the northeast, especially the Girona regions.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that up to 200 liters per square meter could accumulate in some areas of the Girona province. Furthermore, significant snow depths, up to 50 centimeters, are expected above 1,400 meters in the Eastern Pyrenees.
The easterly storm episode will also generate an intense maritime event. On the Costa Brava, waves are expected to reach four meters in height, accompanied by wind gusts that could exceed 50 kilometers per hour.

Civil Protection requests maximum vigilance on seaside promenades and breakwaters, and caution in riverbeds and streams due to possible sudden increases in flow.

Given this situation, Civil Protection maintains the Inuncat and Neucat emergency plans activated. The agency calls on citizens to avoid nautical activities and not approach flood-prone areas, in addition to urging prudence in mobility, especially on affected roads.
