Turkish club Galatasaray has formally submitted a proposal to Girona FC to secure the loan of Colombian forward Yáser Asprilla this January, including a multi-million euro purchase option.

Galatasaray, one of the top clubs in the Turkish league and a strong contender for the Champions League knockout stages, has shown keen interest in signing Yáser Asprilla. The proposal presented to the Montilivi club involves a paid loan with a highly ambitious purchase option.
This purchase option would be set between 23 and 25 million euros, becoming effective if the Colombian player meets a minimum number of games stipulated between both clubs. This figure would allow Girona to recoup the investment made in the summer of 2024, when they paid 18 million euros to Watford for the attacker.
The team managed by Okan Buruk is currently leading the Turkish league, one point ahead of Fenerbahçe, and remains active in the national cup. This heavy schedule and multiple objectives offer Asprilla an ideal stage to gain playing time and develop, despite currently being stalled in the Girona squad.
Separately, Girona had reportedly been focusing more on resolving their goalkeeper situation, seeking an exit for Dominik Livakovic in order to keep Gazzaniga, Ter Stegen, and Krapyvtsov in the first team, rather than focusing on the forward line.
