Girona FC approved a 75 million euro budget for the 2025-26 season today, December 18, 2025, during the general shareholders' meeting, marking a 35 million decrease from the previous year.

This significant reduction is mainly due to the drop in television rights revenue, as the club will cease to receive approximately 30 million euros derived from participation in the Champions League. Despite the cut, the red-and-white club forecasts a negative result approaching one million euros for the current financial year.

The absence from the Champions League results in a 30 million euro reduction in television rights income for the club.

Girona highlighted that, despite the budget decrease, it has achieved "record figures" in other areas. Season ticket holders have surpassed 9,800, and all VIP hospitality seats have been sold. Furthermore, sponsorship revenue is expected to grow by 8%, boosted by the agreement with the Autopodium Group.
Revenue has also been complemented by the sale of key players, such as the transfer of Czech defender Ladislav Krejci to Wolverhampton for 30 million euros, alongside the sales of Yangel Herrera and Miguel Gutiérrez. These operations have allowed the salary limit for the upcoming winter market to be set at 75 million.
Regarding the previous financial year, the 2024-25 season (the Champions season), the board approved accounts that closed with a historic net profit of 16.5 million euros. This profit was 3.1 million lower than initially budgeted, due to the sporting performance of Míchel's team, which was eliminated in the league phase of the Champions League and avoided relegation in La Liga by only one point.
