The arrival of the furniture and decoration giant, IKEA, in the capital of Girona was one of the most anticipated commercial events of the year. Dozens of people gathered at the doors of the new store hours before the official opening to be the first to enter.
The inaugural day, documented by photographer David Aparicio, showcased consumer enthusiasm. One of the highlights was the presentation of a prize to the very first customer who entered the establishment.
This lucky individual received an exchangeable voucher worth 300 euros, an incentive that underscores the importance the Swedish company places on its expansion in Catalonia, particularly in the Girona province.
This new store represents an economic and service boost for the Gironès region and adjacent areas, preventing residents from having to travel to other major cities to purchase the brand's products.
