The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guardia Civil dismantled in January 2026 an itinerant criminal group of four members, accused of committing 25 burglaries in homes across six provinces in Spain, including Girona and Barcelona.

The investigation began in October 2025 in the Community of Madrid, following an increase in robberies using a repeated pattern of operation. Subsequently, it was detected that the group also traveled and operated in other areas, such as Sant Cugat del Vallès, where the first robbery in Catalonia linked to the group was identified.
The operation was led by the Central Unit of Robberies with Force of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of the Mossos d'Esquadra, in coordination with the Organized Crime against Heritage Group of the Guardia Civil. Information exchange allowed the location of a residence in Barcelona and a vehicle used to commit the crimes.

The group primarily targeted single-family residences at night, jumping perimeter fences and forcing windows to steal jewelry, watches, and cash.

The detainees operated itinerantly, organizing “campaigns” of up to five days and managing to commit four or five robberies in a single afternoon before changing zones.
The police operation culminated with the arrest of the four individuals in Lleida, as they returned from the Basque Country. Agents recovered over 6,000 euros in cash and objects valued at more than 100,000 euros. The investigation remains open, and the group may be linked to about twenty more incidents committed during 2025.
