The Junts per Girona party has publicly expressed its disagreement with the management of the tender for the operation of the Cinema Truffaut, attributing responsibility to ERC, which holds the Culture councilorship in the Girona City Council. The party advocates for maintaining the management model carried out by the Col·lectiu de Crítics for the past 25 years, considering it a "singular and quality proposal".
“"It must be remembered that the configuration of contracts and any modification in the provision of a service always corresponds to the responsible area."
This stance by Junts, which is part of the governing team along with Guanyem and the republicans, highlights internal divisions. The deputy mayor and head of the Junts list, Gemma Geis, had previously expressed her "discomfort" at the possibility of the Col·lectiu de Crítics losing management to a company from Cambrils.
The Truffaut management tender evaluated two aspects: a subjective one (49 points), where the Girona entity gained a three-point advantage for its programming of auteur cinema and original versions, and an economic one (51 points). In the latter section, the Cambrils company submitted an offer 4,000 euros lower, tipping the balance in its favor with a difference of 5.16 points.
Although the formal award has not yet occurred and both the Girona City Council and the Col·lectiu de Crítics have opted for discretion, Junts insists on the "will to join forces" to "guarantee the continuity of the current model." The party highlights the work of the Col·lectiu de Crítics as an entity "fully linked and rooted in the cultural life of the city."
Finally, Junts per Girona has emphasized its intention to work "responsibly and within legality" to find the best ways to preserve the cultural model of the Truffaut for Girona, citing the new concessions of Mercagirona as an example of good management.
