The Òmnium Prize selection committee has published the list of the ten works competing for the award in its ninth edition, to be decided at the 75th Nit de les Lletres Catalanes.

The ten nominated works were published between November 2024 and December 2025. The selected titles are: La gran família, by Antònia Carré-Pons; L'home que va vendre el món, by Melcior Comes; Si una família, by Alba Dalmau; Virgil, by Quim Español; Guerra, victòria, demà, by Carles Fenollosa; Els claustres, by Víctor García Tur; Demolició, by Lluís Llort; Abans més que Encara, by Miquel de Palol; Els crits, by Víctor Recort, and Escenaris, by Toni Sala.

"demonstrates once again the literary quality that emerges year after year throughout the Catalan Countries, from València to Girona, passing through Sa Pobla, Terrassa, or Barcelona"

Xavier Antich · President of Òmnium Cultural
The prize, which has an endowment of 25,000 euros (of which 5,000 are allocated for promotion), introduces a novelty this year: the selection of three finalists is abandoned, and all ten nominated works will proceed directly to the final phase. The winner will be announced during the Nit de les Lletres Catalanes.
The Òmnium Best Novel of the Year Award was established in 2017 with the aim of matching prestigious international awards such as the French Prix Goncourt or the English Booker Prize, seeking to promote translation and revitalize the Catalan language literature sector.
Previous winners include Raül Garrigasait (2017) with Els estranys, Marta Orriols (2018) with Aprendre a parlar amb les plantes, Martí Domínguez (2019) with L'esperit del temps, and Eva Baltasar (2020) with Boulder. More recently, the award went to Joan-Lluís Lluís (2021) for Junil a les terres dels bàrbars, Sebastià Alzamora (2022) for Ràbia, Imma Monsó (2023) for La mestra i la bèstia, and Manuel Baixauli (2024) for Cavall, atleta, ocell.
