The clash against Avenida, considered the best non-seeded team, will take place on Friday at 9:30 PM, serving as the final match of the day. This combination is viewed as unfortunate luck for the Girona team in the competition held in Tarragona.
Avenida leads the competition's record with ten titles. The last time the two teams met in a final was four years ago in Valencia, where Roberto Íñiguez's team defeated the Girona squad 74-69.
Uni secured its cup title in 2021 in Valencia, defeating the host, after eliminating Avenida in the semifinals (78-91 in overtime). Recently, Spar Girona defeated Avenida at Fontajau on January 4 (77-60).
The Copa de la Reina has seen five different winners in the last five editions, including Zaragoza, Valencia, and Jairis, which eliminated the Girona team in the semifinals last year.
