The Spar Girona basketball team was defeated 85-74 by Schio in Italy on Thursday, January 22, marking their second consecutive loss in the EuroLeague.

The defeat at the Schio court (85-74) marks the first time that Spar Girona has lost two consecutive games in this edition of the EuroLeague, although the team maintains a 7-3 record with two games remaining. The result also meant conceding the head-to-head average to the Italian side.
Despite the setback, the results of other rivals like Bourges and Galatasaray opened the door to mathematical qualification for the Final 6 in Zaragoza. Uni will secure direct access to the final phase if they manage to win next Wednesday at Fontajau against Carolo.

Quevedo forcing an offensive foul, with a 2+1 and a three-pointer (45-46) recovered the Girona advantage in 54 seconds.

The match was defined by the stellar performance of Shepard, who scored 31 points for Schio, sealing the score at the buzzer. For the visiting team, Quevedo was the top scorer with 18 points, followed by Bibby and Guerrero.
Spar Girona started strong with an 0-8 run, forcing a local timeout (6-13). However, Schio rallied, led by Shepard. After a brief Girona lead at the start of the third quarter (45-46), the Italian team took control, reaching a maximum difference of 12 points (70-58).
