German international goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen was officially presented today, January 22, as a new player for Girona FC, where he will play on loan from FC Barcelona until the end of the current season.

Girona concluded its winter reinforcement presentations with the most high-profile signing, Ter Stegen. Sporting Director Quique Cárcel described the incorporation as “a luxury” and thanked Barça for facilitating the move, noting that the team's playing style suits the goalkeeper's qualities. President Delfí Geli highlighted that Ter Stegen's arrival reflects Girona's ambition to “remain in the elite of football, not only nationally but also European.”

"The farewell from Barça was very hard and I still find it difficult to talk about it. It is a big change, after almost 12 years at Barça which gave me unforgettable memories."
