French midfielder Thomas Lemar has played four consecutive matches for Girona FC, including his second start against Mallorca, as the team urgently needs to cover the significant absence of Ounahi.

Although he is not yet the game-changing player expected, Lemar is starting to show signs of approaching his best form. Girona's victory in Mallorca marked the first time the Frenchman linked four league matchdays participating as a white-and-red player. Furthermore, he was the choice of coach Míchel to cover the attacking midfield position, making it only his second start of the season, following the defeat against Sevilla in August.
Lemar gaining prominence is excellent news for the Girona squad, as his technical ability brings a different dynamic to the attack, even if his physical condition does not yet allow him to perform miracles.
This increase in playing time is now more critical than ever, considering the injury layoff of Ounahi. The Morocco national team coach, Regragui, reported that the player could be out for five or six weeks due to a soleus muscle injury sustained this week, coinciding with his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
