A group of women from Llagostera aged between 65 and 95 meets every Monday to record their memories and prevent the oral legacy of this Gironès town from being lost.

At each meeting, the participants discuss a different topic to unravel local history. They talk about rural life, raising children, childhood games, weddings, and popular sayings, rescuing details that often fall outside official history books in Llagostera.

"Women weren't much of anything. Our work wasn't valued. We couldn't have money, or go to a cafe alone."

Mercè · 91-year-old participant
This space, promoted by the Llagostera Town Council, also functions as an active memory workshop. According to the participants, the process of remembering helps keep the mind sharp and recover experiences that had been locked away for decades.

"The wisdom of these women is enough to write a book this big."

Rosa Casanovas · Project coordinator
All shared knowledge is systematically recorded to document the town's social past. The initiative, coordinated by Rosa Casanovas, was recently featured on the radio program De cap a cap with Joan Bosch, highlighting the importance of this heritage.
